IR hex code decoding. As part of a project I am trying to send out the "power on" IR code for a epson projector. Here is the hex code: Code: [Select]. Code: [Select]. Re: IR hex code decoding. As you seem to understand, based on the program, the Infrared IR signal sent by a Remote Control RC is modulated at quite a high frequency about 38kHz. The cleanest way to do this is to set an Arduino timer to the right frequency, and it will generate the modulation.
Then those codes represent how often to switch the modulation on and off. Thanks, this helps, especially the remote class. I'm sorry, I don't understand what you want to know. You understand that there the IR LED goes on and off quickly, say at 40KHz, so that the receiver can tell the difference between the IR transmitter and things like sun light, or an electric fire. It isn't itself the data, but carries the data.
The period of nothing is measured using cycles of the the carrier frequency, even though there is no light being transmitted. So the burst pair are just two numbers, how many cycles of the carrier frequency to transmit, and how many cycles if the carrier to not transmit stay silent.
Does this make sense? If it does what is the part of those websites that doesn't make sense, because I couldn't find "clear ones". I'm sorry, I was not clear. I meant that the website said that each burst pair could be classified as a "1" or a "0" but I cannot tell what is what in my hex code Even though that they are so far off from each other can they all mean "1"?
RCooke Guest. However, consider these points: 1. The first number is "", which means "learned code" so the timing numbers might wander a bit. On the 3rd page irdisp3 they decode a Sony code and note that Sony "likes" to monkey with what data gets sent.
They also mention that there is no standard, and other mfrs can do as they please. So, there is no guarantee that the code your looking at is a "simple" sequence of binary pairs. Epson might have added in some other special numbers for their own nefarious purposes.
A google search might uncover their true meaning. However, as long as the code sequence works - why worry about it? I want to know how your going to use this data? When I search Arduino for "Pronto hex" I get a bunch of hits, perhaps there is already some code for handling this? I did a google search for "Pronto hex converter" and found lots of sites offering software to convert it into binary or hex numbers - but don't forget that might not work if those "odd" pairs are Epson-specific codes.

The effect makes it appear as if the character s are really inside your home. While the whole concept is appreciated by the casual observer, it is a pain in the rear to turn on every night since there is no guarantee that I will be home to do this at the appropriate time. The process requires going upstairs to the projector and cycle through several menus to select the video that I want to be looped.
Once this is all done, I have to go back at the end of the night and shut it all down. My home is very automated thanks to an Elk M1 system. Therefore, I wanted to have the house Elk M1 system send a show start command at pm and a show stop command at pm to the projector and drapery control.
The command part was simple, I incorporated a few X PUM01 modules that create a momentary dry contact closures for show start and show stop. The programming is as simple as scheduling lights to turn on and off with the Elk M1 system. With that out of the way, I needed a device to send a sequence of remote commands to the FAVI projector that I use for the window projection.

They sell many types of projection content. Tape the Mylar film to your window on the inside. Setup the projector to project onto the Mylar.
The projector has an audio jack that I plugged the Bluetooth speaker transmitter into. The transmitter comes with the speaker. The speaker is placed outside. I have the speaker 40' away from the transmitter with no issues. The transmitter is connected to my projector inside the house above the garage. The speaker is outside and at ground level. The system utilizes one Arduino Uno R3 controller. It also controls two relays that emulate button presses on a Somfy remote control. This project was not pretty but it was a fast way to get done what I wanted in s short amount of time since there is not much time left until Christmas.

Specifically, an Epson i with built-in LAN port. Can they be controlled with an IP connection rather than the typical serial connection? Auser Junior Member Posts: March The protocol manual which covers that projector seems to indicate that you can control any Epson projector with a network interface via TCP, but doesn't specify which port to use.
If you get a response along the lines of ERR: then you're laughing. Be aware that you may need to switch the communications mode from serial to ethernet in the advanced section of the menu. Also, expect Epson projectors to lock up under external control. Talking to them as little as possible may give you a reasonable run before it stops responding.
In fact, you could well be better off using an IR probe. I think the whole projector industry needs a little more attention paid to QC in the external control category.
I'll ask the guy I'm dealing with at Epson for details on Ethernet control and let you know if he has any idea about the i. It's trivial to telnet into the projector on the escvpnet port, but there's obviously a different protocol for IP-based control than serial control. That protocol - for IP control - is a very closely guarded secret.
I've been unable to get hold of the information so far. We switched to Epson, but the 's and 's were locking up on us all the time I think the whole projector industry needs a little more attention paid to QC in the external control category August Customer is changing their 's to the newer and Any help for the newbie would be greatly appreciated. In Hardware. The factory remote does not have discretes on it and was wondering if anyone has the codes for this perticular projector yet Thanks in advance for any help. I don't believe that the projector has discrete IR power on or off codes.
According to Epson, they only have a power command. Also, looking through the Remote Central database linkall those projectors have a power command only - not discretes.
You'll have to learn power command and then create a macro to do the power off steps. I don't think there discrete codes either. But one thing that works in our favor is that off requires pressing "power" twice. So your off macro would be power, delay, power. All high's, all low's, it must be The Epson, and all have firmware updates which give us discrete power commands that the used.
The only difference is that the old ON command is now a toggle, one press ON and once it is on the first ON press prompts you to press it again to turn it off. This is because in their infinite wisdom, the power toggle on the new remote is the same command as the old ON command so they had no choice but to keep that as the toggle in the new firmware.
Any Epson dealer need only call the tech support number, give them your dealer ID and tell them which model you have and that you need the firmware update to give you discrete power commands and they will tell you what you need to do and send you the files. There are 10 types of people in this world, There are those who understand binary, and those who don't! I did successfully update a today and everything went just as it was supposed to.
